The Registry base price is $60 and ICANN gets $2 so I doubt it will go lower than that.

why bother reducing the price - im assuming there are 50,000 - 80,000 names that were registered just to protect company names and school images

if there is a big reduction it might be a year out (just before renewal time) to avoid everyone droping the names like flies, lol
