Yahoo Publisher Invitations - What's the TRUTH?

Background: Yahoo Publisher is essentially a new competitor for Google Adsense

My question: There are several posts on this forum stating that:

A) Invitations are issued and required

B) There are no such thing as invitations, just apply online

I thought B was the right answer, and I did apply a few weeks ago with no response.

THEN, I see that a few people are SELLING Invitations.

So... WHAT'S THE TRUTH?

If it's A, then what can I do to get such an invitation?

just apply and wait. Takes them about 2 to 4 weeks before you get an answer.

8 weeks and still no answer from them.

If there isn't an invitation, then sales like the one below are fraud?

yep, need an invite. I bought one then got one in my email a few weeks later, and forworded it to my brother.

you don't need an invite. I applied about 2 months ago and got accepted 2 weeks ago. However, an invite would get you in instantly.

Are these "invitations" that are being sold simply application acceptances the sellers received from Yahoo after applying through their online form and waiting like everyone else (the recipient then selling the signup code rather than using it themselves - which I would think would be a TOS violation)? I haven't heard of anyone receiving an invitation from Yahoo that bypassed the application and review system. I applied and was accepted several weeks back after about a 2-week wait.

Yes Duke its a TOS violation ..As The invitation says its not transferable..
People applied 3-4 times , They got 2-3 invite and they are now selling them.

scorpio, just to clear myself here, I applied, got the url invitation, then went to sign-up and you need to be from USA. I am from Canada. So I sold it.

DogFaceBoy When u receive the invite.. there is a line in it saying the invite is not transferable. Like 7-8th line..

That's what I suspected. Thanks for the clarification. That being the case, people who bought these shouldn't be surprised if their account is suddenly closed.

I called Yahoo un an unrelated account issue and then asked if it was ok that I bought the "invite", and they said yes, as long as my site complies with their TOS, it will be ok. So I see no problem with buying an "invite" from another person.

My current CPM is $7.35 from a 0.7% CTR. But it seems I get more per click, even though I have a lower CTR then I had on google. (I have a overall $4.99 CPM at Google, with a CTR that is more then twice that)
