Looking at the Domain Name reselling business from the top down I wonderd whereabouts you chaps fit in and how you came about getting involved in DN buying selling etc...
For me I can see two clear areas of what your business model may look like, with integration playing a part of course.
Option One.
Get yourself a reseller acount.
Provide a domain service that allows you to provide registrations for all of your customers charging them whatever you feel like, with added hosting options etc. etc....
Option Two
Your business specialises in grabbing decent domains that drop and then ether marketing them individually, contacting different indviduals who may have a purpose for them etc...etc....
Obviously Options on and Two fit together very nicely.
Is this the norm for you chaps in this forum, do you search the drop lists and write your own scripts etc to check names all of the time etc..or do you mainly use name dropping services like Snapnames and then market these on your own web sites ot through EBay etc...
I guess what I'm trying to say is if your business is built around the model of grabbing decent names and then selling them on , how do you chaps pay the bills when we have to sit around for ages waiting for drops to come through....or worse still no decent names grabbed over a period. Does anyone have a stable sideline in DN's that keep your business ticking over nicely or are most people here just making extra cash on the side in their spare time.
