I noticed that your domain "domain.com" expires in a few weeks, which means that it is going to be publicly available soon. I'd like to buy this domain name before it expires.

I assume that you are not interested in keeping it for yourself.

I can buy this domain for $60 plus any renewal related expenses. What do you think?

I always try to keep it professional except when someone annoys me by lowballing and telling me its cuz they can just go to Godaddy and hand reg a name for $8. Then I have no problem telling them off.

great point. i have turned low xxx offers which seem like lowball offers into mid xxxx sales.

I only respond to lowballers when Sedo forces me to. My counter offer is usually 100,000,000 USD. And to the person who just received this counter offer, thanks for the $76 offer, and I know who you are. :lol:

definitely agree that you should try to turn offers into better offers but, when they seem so out of touch with the realities of the market or treat you like you must be, it's game over. Besides, if they really knew anything about real market values (and were willing to pay them) they would get back to you with a decent offer.

Buy a new calculator.

Lowballers will be expected and often come out of the blue simply by a WHOIS lookup.

It is the ones who ask you what you minimum amount for consideration is, you tell them no less than 500 euros, and they come back and say "I'll give you 200USD".

Must be using PayPal currency exchange calculator.

Otherwise, if someone makes a respectable offer or counter offer we can go from there.

But you have to love the "I'll give you 7 dollars because that is all it cost you" or "How's $60?" you say no and they come back with "$62?"

Emails like this are sent out in mass by typical domainers, its best not to even respond to them. These don't bother me as much as the ones I get from well known's in the domain industry, who disguise themselves as college students wanting to use my single word generic for a college blog..(estimated worth: low to mid xxx.xxx) I don't blame them for trying to get names on the cheap, but to use deception in order to get it, that really flames me, Not to mention the DEEP pockets these guys have.

I initially thought most of the lowballers were domainers...but I am getting more and more lowballers who are people starting new businesses that believe $150 is a real solid offer (and point out to me what a new reg fee is). I usually direct them to dnjournal and tell them to submit a cometitive offer or spend the $8 on companyxyz123nowonline.biz .

I usually point them to register the .mobi equivalent and I never hear from them again.

Most all inquires are for my top generics and they are in fact from domainers, ...With a little probing, they always give a little something away that can later be traced...Some are members on this Forum, some written about on DNJ, or Connected to Domain Sponsor and even Demand Media.

I usually point them to register the .mobi equivalent and I never hear from them again.

I ask them for contact information and if they give it to me, I call them..many lowball offers DO turn into nice sales...just think how many times you sent an email offering someone a few hundred bucks for a domain as an "opener"...sometimes there is alot more money behind that offer but you can't blame someone for trying...it happens everyday (names are purchased very cheaply)
