Anybody running a zone file service faster than what is currently available?

I am looking for a faster solution.

What existing services are you referring to? I'm trying to get an idea of what you mean. Something like exody? I may have some info for you.

Yes, I currently use Exody but I am getting beat out by others
with major computing power running their own zone files.

Exody is fast, but not fast always fast enough.

Getting beat on the drops? Or getting beat on uncovering good names to track and/or put snapbacks on? I can tell you that running your own zone files requires a very powerful machine and alot of legwork. Also, before anything else, you need ftp access to the netsol ftp server to download the raw zone files as they are updated (@ 4 times a day).

I want to see names that have been deleted as soon as possible
Exody updates twice a day.

You are saying 4 times?

I don't know if the zone files will help you that much. Many of the really excellent domain names are snapped *before* the expiration date or deactivation or on-hold date or whatever. Just a thought to throw into the mix.

Yes get the list of the best On-Hold domains and sort them by expiry date, back order them and then check them over and over.

Usually back order the ones that have gone into there first day of expired :

http://www.snapnames.com/deleteprocess.html

not the 5 days deletion - you stand no chance on these - and the back order will have gone.
