The Potsdam Conference for National Cybersecurity 2026 will take place on 24-25 June 2026 at the Hasso-Plattner-Institut in Potsdam, Germany.
The German title of the event is Potsdamer Konferenz für Nationale CyberSicherheit. It is one of Germany’s key high-level cybersecurity conferences, bringing together decision-makers and experts from politics, industry, academia and security authorities.
The 2026 edition is held under the theme:
“What Now? Redesigning cybersecurity in times of global upheaval”
In German, HPI presents the theme as:
“WHAT NOW? Cybersicherheit in Zeiten des globalen Umbruchs neu gestalten”
About the conference
HPI describes the Potsdam Conference for National Cybersecurity as a nationwide platform for international exchange on the cybersecurity situation in cyberspace.
The conference brings representatives of key security authorities in Germany, Europe and internationally into dialogue with stakeholders from industry, politics and associations. The aim is to discuss the current global cybersecurity situation, important milestones in cybersecurity governance, technological developments and shared standards for improving security in cyberspace.
Why this event matters to the domain and internet infrastructure industry
Although this is not a domain-only conference, it is highly relevant to DNForum readers because cybersecurity is now directly connected to domain names, DNS, hosting, registries, registrars, online identity, digital infrastructure and business continuity.
Cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, ransomware, disinformation, AI-driven threats, identity leaks and systemic vulnerabilities all affect the wider internet ecosystem. Domain registrars, DNS operators, hosting providers, cybersecurity vendors, infrastructure companies and digital policy professionals should follow the discussions around national cybersecurity and digital resilience.
Key questions for 2026
HPI says the 2026 conference looks ahead by asking:
- What consequences must be drawn from the current cybersecurity situation?
- Which concrete steps are now necessary so that strategic goals have real impact?
- How can Germany and Europe move from reactive defence to actively shaping security, resilience and digital sovereignty?
