Hi,

Both domains form a single identity, and are graphic and
text-based representations of one another.

In short, centsymbol.com allows ¢.com to pass the 'radio
test'.. :)

This domain set has obvious financial uses in the US, and
to see how how it is currently set up, please take a look
at centsymbol.com first.

The punycode encoding for ¢.com is xn--8a.com (let me
know if you don't understand what this is).

Any questions, just let me know.

So, Brian... are you saying that I can register say, eurosymbol.eu... type it as €.eu in the browser and it auto resolves to eurosymbol.eu?

Hi Kev,

I wish that were true!

Your question is a good one, however, and deserves an answer.

The question you raise pertains to two different domain names,
one is, as Biggedon has intimated, an IDN and the other is a more
commonplace text-based domain, which is more easily understood.

That said, if you owned €.eu then you could auto-resolve it to the
domain eurosymbol.eu, and in so doing create a flawless identity
that involves both a symbol and text.

The only issue with the above scenario is that €.eu is not possible
as a domain name... otherwise you could do it.

Cheers,

Haha! Ok, after a few paracetamol, and finally getting rid of the hangover... I just realised it was a 'duuuh' moment. Not sure what I was thinking when I wrote that this morning.

Barf.
