It isn't fair to evaluate Japanese IDN on type-in traffic yet 5yo. Almost all Japanese IDN traffic that I have seen (and I see between a thousand and two thousand a day) are coming from Search Engines. So if this domain gets indexed and achieves a high page rank, the traffic on it should be good. Until it is indexed however, I would be surprised if he received even one visitor. That is to be expected I think.
