Looking for peer appraisal and guidance on Arousals.Com. I received a minimum offer on Afternic, and looking for ideas on how to pursue a sale.

Okay, for arousals.com... No previous history on alexa other then it was reg'd in 2001 at dotster; searched overture for arousals, found nothing, on arousal max bid was $0.25, not too much, no history for marketleap... IMHO your current bid is at 105.00 on afternic, I think that is pretty good..I would say for undeveloped $50-75 Developed I would say much more. This would make a great fantasy site for both men and women, perhaps an exhange for erotic letters written from one lover to another, sex sells baby! Put some advertising on the site, make some money; doesn't have to sexually explicit, perhaps just an appitizer for the romantic couples maincourse and desert. Okay, so that is all that I have to say about that. The offer looks good to me again the caveat is IMHO. For me I would probably develop the site and sell if for $1000.00 +, but that is just me

The plural is not common, but a good play on words for a discussion group.

Thanks for the perspectives on this domain name. I agree that my one-word name has some allure and hidden value. As for plurals, I typically agree. However, arousal.com is a porn link site, and I am not sure that it's a better domain name in this case. They seem pretty equal actually. (In contrast, I grabbed onyxs.com last week, and to me, that's worth considerably less than onyx.com.)

With Afternic, the $100 offer is really a net $40, further reduced by my registration and renewal costs. At that rate, I'm practically giving it away. But, it only costs me roughly $7 per year to keep it. My affiliate business is covering that expense. So I'm fortunate in that I don't -need- to sell it. I'm into quality versus quantity.

From your advice here, between $100 and $200 net would be a run-of-the-mill offer. Quite frankly, I'm looking to net double that. Otherwise, I'll hold for future development, throw a couple of affiliate links on there, and/or wait for a better future offer.

searched overture for arousals, found nothing...

I think what some people still don't understand is that you will never find anything on Overture in PLURALS... it is always singular, no matter which word you're looking for.

Google on the other hand, lists 13.5k web pages containing "arousals".

Overture's Search Suggestion tool truncates the "S" anyway.

Arousals is a good single word domain name, because it can be "adult" but isn't vulgar, and is very memorable if developed using memorable content. (Another reason I won't sell it for $40 net...)
