$100 fee to sell a name for $110?

I got an offer on a .ca domain listed at Sedo... The offer was $110 and the Sedo fee will be $100... Crazy...

Does anyone know if they will lower the fee for smaller sales amounts? I am not going ot accept this offer, but I am certainly planning on making a counter offfer, but it still won't be too high...

Point the nameservers to ns1.sedoparking.com, ns2.sedoparking.com before you counter-offer. The fee will then be 10%.

Ouch, I thought it was 10% if you had the domain parked with them and 10% or $50 (whichever is higher) if it wasn't.

Right I forgot about that...

But do they take the lower of the 2 amounts? For example, if the name sold for $2000 would they want $200 then or would it still be $100?

$100 is the minimum for a .ca, even if parked at Sedo.

Well, I made my counter offer and received another offer back, still less than I will sell for but I think it means that this is a serious buyer. I am going to send another offer back to them, I am wondering what you guys think about the Sedo auction format? I can send the domain to auction, but if I do that, is the initial bidder still required to honor their offer if no other bids are placed?

Hi elivate,

Exactly- if no other offers are made, the initial bidder is bound to purchasing the domain at the offer price the buyer made when you decided to push the name to auction.

Thanks for the info! The buyer decided to cancel after my second counter offer so they were not really serious anyway...
