Registrations can only be a maximum of 10 years via the registry. They'd put the money in the bank and earn interest, and renew it when the time came, IF you still had the name registered with them. Big IF....

and who does know if within not even 100 but 10 years there will be nothing else than just internet?

You never know I mean...back in 1990 who did know that 16 years later we were going to trade domain names?

I feel bad for the guy who's going to pay all the extra for the 100 year renewel and then transfer it to another registrar without realizing they'll lose 90 years.
