Compared to your basic NNNN.com's How would you think this one would compare? Registered 1997.

Thanks!

Lots of things happened in 1946. I think this is a STRONG name you have here.

I'm going to say $xx,xxx to the right buyer

alot of new beginnings in 1946, I agree with Mike on the 5-figure valuation.

Wow, you guys are generous. I wouldn't know how to monetize historical content on 1946 events (and what the heck happened that year?), but xx,xxx seems overly optimistic. I'd say mid x,xxx.

Yup, I agree...it is really a not-so-historical year that elicits strong memories like 1945 - the end of World War II.

The NNNN.com market has been strengthening and it is a year in the mid 90's none the less. Low $xx,xxx for sure to the "right buyer". Either way, you have a decent asset on your hands in my opinion.

Odd for someone to appraise it twice simply because someone appraised it differently or less.

The rationale that it is a 90's year (I assume you meant 1900's or 20th century) therefore automatically an $xx,xxx.xx name is hard to buy, from my perspective.

The market may be strengthening for the "right buyer" but...the market (or marketability) for a random year date is less than a significantly historic date.

There is not a person on here that can really quote a significant even that occurred in 1946 without using some resources.

A random date may have significance to someone born in that year.

Granted, there is a nice market for NNNN domains and NNNN is easy recall.

But claiming it is worth xx,xxx to the right buyer is so vague in concept.

Everything may be worth xx,xxx to the "right buyer".

This so called "right buyer" might be someone willing to pay $xxx, xxx.xx or even seven figures.

Really is no definition to the "right buyer" other than being just a fictitious entity.

We all want that "right buyer" to come knocking on the door.

But for now, how many "right buyers" are you (or the owner of this name) going to turn down offers in the x,xxx range waiting for that "right buyer"?

I agree with Doc Com. Good name, but xx,xxx is fantasy and as an appraisal has no substance.

This name would likely fetch low $x,xxx if it dropped and went to auction, maybe up to mid $x,xxx for a particularly motivated buyer, and I struggle to think of anyone who might fit this latter description.

Also, the number of people for whom 1946 was a significant year is getting smaller all the time...

It's definitely not low $x,xxx though. Nowadays nearly random nnnn.com's are fetching that price, $xxx are getting rarer and rarer. In a drop this would get mid $x,xxx easy, that's the current resale value imo.

tetrapak - agree with you, I see this getting mid $X,xxx if it went to drop. And as Doc said, theres nothing particularly special about 1946 and the right buyers a few and far between

if it was on Namejet, it would go between $1000 - $1500.

Bob, a few recent NJ sales:

3134.com $1,810
5949.com $1,203
1223.com $6,400

It's not hard to see where 1946 belongs to price wise.

Very good for end user sale. 3134 is not a year whose events are recorded, 1946 is. I say HOLD expecting low xx,xxx. If I made a movie with that name, I'd pay up to 25K.
