its because domainers get suckered into any extension that comes out.

Sounds like a promotional press release written by Rick and Co if you ask me :-)

Being as companies like oqo.com are one step away (imho) from making a pc cell phone... I still think theres no need for .mobi

Second reason being MS is now developing a cell phone browser that lets you use normal .coms instead of mobis...

http://labs.live.com/deepfish/

so why are .mobis good marketing, Focus?

You misunderstood my very clear statement... .mobi = good marketing, i.e. not good FOR marketing and alot of dummies (companies) are buying into, it is a flash in the muzzle and will be gone as fast as it came... .mobi has good marketing, and this is the only reason we are even having a discussion about them...I hate .mobi's and I hope they all rot in hell in fire and brimstone!

.Com is your master .mobi b*tches! KNEEL and give praise to the .com! Muhahahahaha

This guy Frager is actually funnier than Rick.

Now the whole deal is dropping to bits because a few people on the forum have said nasty things.

If things were that sensitive, do you think they would have even posted?

Anyway, we have got one thing straight from that latest clarification. Even hypothetical investors don't think TMs, Typos or Dot Mobi are worth Jack Sh*t.

I am all for the typos and TM's while they last... but .mobi? HAHAHAHA

Yes, this is the one where domainers finally see they have been led by the hand into the slurry pit and are up to their necks in Bullshit.

Duck,

your responses are amazing.
the end.

anyone have a meeting set up yet? :)

make sure you load up the portfolio with all your mobi's

.mobi's going down - everyone is fleeing rick's forum in herds - not good news

bank of america is using .mobi

IMO, what you guy's all missed in the blog was the blatant promotion for "members of Tango".

Just drumming up traffic for his site IMO

probably because you cannot squeeze m.bankofamerica.com on most mobile screens.

Right you are Duck. But they could squeeze the numeric equivalent of BoA, 262 (dot) com quite nicely on over 4 billion cell phones globally.

Cheers,

Absolutely, but they have not branded on BOA.com, so it might appear to make sense to brand on BOA.mobi instead. It will only work, however, if a lot of other major corps push this hard. Most other companies do not have such ridiculously long URLs.

They would be wise to obtain the BOA.com just in case and use m.BOA.com as well. A lot of people are going to assume that. They would have been much better with Bank.com. Their internet naming strategy seems very flaky to me.

If any of us worked as the Internet marketing/brand manager for half of these companies their online profits and traffic would most likely increase signifigantly...half of them have NO clue about domains, customer intentions and interpretations of web addresses and the various versions of them.
For example take a company called "The Boat World" or something like that... they almost always have only BoatWorld.com but not TheBoatWorld.com or vice versa...the other one is always parked and it's always reg'd long after the original one was. In fact, I use this example because I got one like this early this morning for a HUGE financial company and their new advertising campaign..they have the one with "THE" but not without! LMAO...If I was the CEO I would fire the marketing idiots dumbass.

they do have BOFA.com however
