It is not it.org. Nice guess, but doesn't fit the initial profile I posted.

It.org has been registered since 1994, the it.com is not a developed site, and it.net is not listed for sale.

So far no one has guessed it correctly. So it remains a mystery.

It might have gotten more if we knew the name. I didn't bid any more because I had no clue what the name was about. It makes a difference (to my reselling leads) whether a name is letter-number or number-letter.
