MiCard (Multiple Interface Card) is going to be the next standard when it comes to memory cards. What is unique with these cards is that besides from fitting in cellphones, mp3-players and other devices that uses memorycards, they will also fit in the usb-slot of your PC or other USB-compatible device.
MiCard was officially approved as a new standard by the MultiMedia Card Association (MMCA) last thursday and are expected to be globally available by the end of fall 2007.
What's cool with these cards, as your average sdcard/microsd-card has 2-4GB of space, MiCard will have 8GB as a minimum (!) and it is possible to increase this capacity up to 2048GB (!!!).
The transfer speed of these cards will be 480mbit/s, which beats every other memory card on the market.
With that being said. Can anyone share their thoughts on the value of these 2 names I picked up yesterday? Thanks in advance!
