The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com and top to bottom this was the strongest week of sales we've seen since starting our sales column last fall! There are two six-figure deals on the new chart and for the first time every domain on the big board was in five figures or more. No 5-figure sale has ever missed making the chart, but this week, three domains failed to make it despite selling in that range! Read all about it through the link below:

It's great to see the domain sale prices go up. But, I am still trying to buy more
domains. :-(

So, they are getting a little bit expensive to acquire.

Great article.

Congrats Bashar... $225,000 is a very, very good price for Arab.com. My guess is you should be able to get your money back in short order depending on how you use the name.

Exactly my point, 23. In 1999, Arab.com would have gone for $2.25m standard.

You can use historical prices as a reference point for the price of domains today.

But, you have to use "today's" prices.

The stock market pricing strategies should be used now.

What is the present and future value of a domain name (or Corp.)?

What present and future revenue can it produce?

Does the name (or company) have a undiscovered potential?
(For example, www.Wifi.net was almost an unknown word 5 years ago.)

(But, you can not be a day trader with domains because there is no
instant market. Other than, selling at a closeout price.)

There are a lot of people who talk about how they should have
bought Microsoft shares in the '80's. Or, the domain Business.com for
$ 70. That is all history.

You have to deal with "What is the value today?"

OK. Maybe, Arab.com would have sold for $ 2 million a couple years ago.
But, you can say the same thing about Enron, Lucent, etc.

Use historical data as a reference. But, not as a baseline.

Remember, everything goes thru cycles. (Stock Market, Real Estate, Gold, Original Paintings, Retailing, Management Styles, etc.)

(One person's opinion.)

Arab.com should give more than 100% returns in a year. Goodluck.

Mole, what formula are you referring to

(Net Present Value-Compound Interest?)/CLV??

I am not very swift about finance. You have to explain it to me.

Scorpio, do you know what Mole is talking about?
