Ummm cpskins,

About those "available" 3 letter .coms

You either:

1) have a sense of humor

2) checked the names when the registrar's database was a bit haywire

3) are in need of a bit of sleep

I have recently checked ALL possible three char .com and .net
domains.
There was not a single one three letter domain name available.
I have been sending the list of about 5000 available 3-char .coms with at least one number, to interested people.

I developed DomainAPI, and to say that "it lies" is ridiculous. If you'd actually checked what you were using at that URL you'd have seen that it's a demo version of a private label registration package. The demo version runs against eNom's test server, and therefore shows domains that are available in the test environment.

This is VERY clearly explained at http://www.domainapi.com/demo/index.htm, which you should have read before accessing the demo, where it says (quote) "Searching for available names only searches the test environment. Therefore some names that are registered in the real world will appear as available."

When the package is run against the live eNom server it returns real time availability.

Simon.
