drop it..............386 is dead......the 3g you are thinking about applies to cell phones, not computers.......we are at about generation 9 on pc's.

80486 (32-bit) (SX - No FPU/ DX - FPU, also SLC but only seen in Amstrads!)
80586 (AKA Pentium) (32-bit)
80686 (AKA PII/PIII/PIV inc celeron varieties etc) (32-bit going to 64-bit). I think PIV and co belong here but stand to be corrected, not sure if they are based around an 80686 core of higher
So, we are currently at about generation 7 or 8.
