At today's price:
Cost to pick up from drop: $70 to $110
Cost to pick up from someone else $40 to $150
Price to enduser $100 to $300.
Personally, I don't think the fact that 4/8 = 1/2 or 4+8=12 has any relation to the value of the name.

Number domains are easiest to sell if it resembles people's birthday. I sold a number of them for $200 a piece on ebay. Other numbers are just sitting on my portfolio collecting dust.
So in your case, 4812.com. Probably the person who's (or will be) born on 4/8/1912 or 4/8/2012 will be interested on your name. I would say you can look forward to it on 2012 (olympic).
