Sorry, 4seek doesn't make any sense. The domain that has value here is 2seek.com

Although the ebay went nowhere, today i recieved an email from an ebay member asking if i still wanted to sell it. Strangley enough the email that was used is [email protected]

Now after looking at this site, which is a pay per click company, its design is identical to a site called www.4-seek.com and does have their contact email at the bottom of the site.

Now the query all makes sence.

I know the above comments point to my name being next to worthless, but given this inquiry and the sites invloved, does anyone have a ballpark figure on what price to ask..

Thanks
Mike

Mike,

4-seek is probably a US company so don't confuse them by quoting AU dollars. US$ does the business every time. They look like a pretty big outfit (there site is impressive anyway) so I'd ask for $300-$400 and see what happens. As the old saying goes- what you don't ask for, you don't get.

Let us know what happens.

I often have to eat my words - cause I can't 4ce !

Got offer, $100 Min - might get more, but the customer seems to be a reseller himself I think.

4seek.com is better than 4-seek.com, in my opinion. If they are associated with 4-seek.com, they should want to pay more than $100 for the superior 4seek.com.

I was interested that you posted your domain on ebay, but it went nowhere. I've wondered if ebay is a good venue for selling domains, but never got around to checking it out before. Thanks for getting me over there. I'm wondering if anyone here has had an experience selling a domain on ebay.

Also, does anyone have an opinion as to whether using numbers to denote words in domains, such as 4seek, has an affect on the value of the domain. I liken them to the shorthand of vanity license plates, but someone pointed out to me recently that a URL with a "word substitute" such as 4 (for), 2 (to or two), u (you), etc., does not translate well in non-print ads. What do you think?

Using numbers in domains is not good - you are right it doesn't translate well. But if you have mega bucks to spend on promotion names with numbers can work. We have a company here in the UK called phones4u and they are one of the biggest sellers of mobile phones in England.

thanks for the positive feedback peoples. this may seem a spastic question, but, if i get a yes on a price, i have absolutely no idea on where to go from there. do i just get them to wire some $$$ from usa to australia and then i give them the key to make changes. sorry if this seems like i am a bit stupid. is there other ways people have used and trust and would i be up for any fees doing a transfer.

thanks again

The money is the easy part - just concentrate on the deal for now. PayPal might be the best option, but that's for latter.
