Watching it on the Huffington Post... I cannot see this ending well.

It's down to 500 feet... the poor kid must be so scared...

on the ground now... waiting to hear if the boy is ok....

yeah but no kid was inside, this will be interesting...

Yes, reports saying that people saw something fall out of the balloon, but there is a possibility he never really got into the balloon.

crazy story, wondering how long cnn will run with this... lets hope the kid is hiding somewhere and turns up okay.

LOL, they just found the little **** hiding in the attic.
I see an expensive bill and ass whoopin' coming!
Yeah, just got this too. The main thing is the kid is well. What a drama.

Sounded all like a hoax and publicity stunt for the parents to get an added boost to their short-lived TV careers IMO.

How sad but I called the same thing when I saw it unfolding on TV - either that or he was hiding somewhere thinking he'd be in trouble.

What got me, when it landed, did you see how small it was? No way something that small could lift a child. Even Mythbusters tested the balloon-lifting child experiment and the number of balloons they needed to lift a smaller child was just crazy.

Edit: Mythbusters video:

Look at the volume of balloons they had, while there is some extra space needed, it is still far more than what the weather balloon would have. Also, don't you think that it would be more elongated if there was a child in the balloon?

I am sure that many on the forum were elated to find out this was NOT the mother ship that crashed.
