That's totally stupid unless its a memorial for a multi-millionaire that died on Flight 877. Just another nail into why this drop game must go WLS.

drop game is over if there are people paying that kinda money (with proxy up to $20,000). not sure what these people are thinking, but it's not really important. people are now buying drops at prices that surpass end user prices. only people making $ are pool and regsitrars. sad.

My 107.com actually gets traffic, whereas 877.com won't. :) I think my asking price just went up....

Could be endsuers bidding.

Or could be people bidding for the endusers :)

I am not surprised at all. Would be a great name for a toll-free company.

Perhaps, however you would be severely limited to selling 877 toll free numbers and bypassing the market for 800 and 888 numbers, plus the lucrative resale market of good 800 numbers. Most firms really want a true 800 number, not 877.

Seems like an outrageous price to me, perhaps that is why I lose 95% of the auctions and why I also say 'bring on wls' like Mole.

With an 800 # you don't have to tell someone it's a toll free call, you would be suprised how many people do not quickly realize 877 and 888 numbers are also toll free, unless reminded, and even then perhaps hesitate making the call.

Real 800 Numbers have an advantage as far as marketing goes vs 888 and 877, as the public equates too free as meaning 800.

I can see 800.com selling for big money but not 877.com.

There are many disadvantages to having an 800 number. Most numbers have been used before and you could be getting tons of calls from a previous business and payphone calls are very expensive sometimes costing up to 50 cents per call in addition to the per minute charge. The fact of the matter is that is that with about 50% of business most people would rather call than email and long distance is normally not an issue especially with unlimited calling plans and the importance of reaching someone directly.

1) Remember than some numbers are extremely sensitive to Asian community.

2) Yes, 877 reflects toll free - There is still a poll of vanity toll free numbers available with 877 prefix.

3) REAL REASON = go visit www.888.com
