Just the two bidders pushing up the price....but, that's all you need, eh?

Interesting that Rick Schwartz was in the room, but didn't bid - at least, not when it started to take off...

Y'know, got a feeling that it'd have gone for its reserve, at around $450,000, if the 2nd bidder hadn't materialised......Just shows - you need luck, too, for a big price in this game - even for a great name.

Congrats to the buyer and seller! $1.4M is a fair price for this domain in today's market. It'll be interesting to see whether the domain will just be parked or turned into an active business in the near future. If Directi will be confirmed as the buyer, I think Ad.com would perfectly fit into their portfolio of businesses.

Wonderful domain. I always thought it would sell for 2M though.

Anal Dilation?

Great sale. I would have valued the domain much higher. I cannot understand why we never see microsoft, yahoo or some of the 'smaller' ad networks bidding on such domains. I'd think business would be much better on ad.com then for example 7search.com (just to name one). From a marketing perspective ad.com is the best you can have.

Nice to see that even in todays depressed reseller market a name sale for twice as much as it should have. Congrats to the seller!

I think in today's market its a very good price i think Ads.com is better i think its only worth $1.4 million if it's making $275k + a year in revenue. The only other way its worth that sort of money is if you have a really good development plan for it.
I would be guessing what its worth with out knowing what its making but in todays market i would of said $500k, The guy who has now owns it has really big cash maybe a few hundread million $ and im sure he has a good plan for it.

If you'd heard that Rick Schwartz had sold this name (yeah I know it wasn't his) for just $1.4m - you'd all be thinking he'd lost his touch...

This was a bargain for a company that has an involvement in the advertising arena - I imagine this name will spearhead a major direction for Directi.

I wonder what price limit Divyank had set himself before the auction...$5m....more?
