Overture Japan figures for "ƒAƒ_ƒ‹ƒg" (adult, written in Japanese katakana) are 3,012,930 searches in August 2005, and 169,286 for "adult". Not had a chance to test the traffic yet... but I'm optimistic.

Great name to primarily target Japan's Western expat community such as yourself. I could imagine, this name could be very useful and successful if being advertised or positioned in places like Shinjuku etc.

Adult entertainment is extremely popular in Japan. It's also very common for business men to take their clients to nightclubs and negociate there because of the relaxing environment, much different than in the office. $2500-3000 IMHO.

I take it that is xn--cck0cya3l.jp. If so very impressive and welcome to the IDN fraternity. You would also be most welcome at [mod]Illegal link.[/mod], if you would care to contribute to the general debate on Japanese IDN, which is very much in focus.

Parking at Sedo is already up and running and pointing at local Adwords in Japanese is already possilble. Traffic is a bit of problem until IE 7.0 is released as Japan does not seem to have much in the way of IDN browser support, but this is going to be big.

I think you can reasonably ignore the appraisals that have been posted to date. My guess is that this domain will soon be worth $XXX,XXX.

Sorry, my mistake.

Local character searches are beating English searches by 20:1. Clearly, English language with Japanese ccTLD is a bit of niche market, as many Expats will go to dot com sites.

As most Japanese will not be IDN savvy at the moment, this domain will be currently typed in a lot by the Japanese, however, I guess those type-ins are likely to drop-off once they are able to type-in IDNs.

My advice is to find a buyer and get sell it if you can. As you will be aware the reg fees on dot jp are very high!

Still nice domain and probably worth mid $x,xxx.
