Hi

We got this message about one of our domains. Has anybody dealt with this organization? Any advice?
Thanks

"We are a private venture capital broker. Our investors would like to open up discussions about the possible acquisition of "domain.com"

They are interested in acquiring profitable businesses in this niche that have revenues above $150k per year and/or have traffic over 100k unique visitors per month.

Offers are usually at multiples of trailing earnings, however, some deals are based on brand, user base, and traffic.

If interested in entertaining an offer, please provide us with some history of the online business and best time to reach you.

Best Regards,

reads like a scam,

Domain does not resolve to a site, privacy on the whois and it's only a few weeks registered.

the name server that the domain is on has a few newly registered domains all in the same vein

http://www.dailychanges.com/globalmarketinglinkbuilding.org/2012-02-25/ if you click through on the names one has been suspended most on privacy .. but he forgot to put privacy on a couple of others :-)

Pretty sure it is a scam

Sounds scammy...

Do you have a business on the domain? Is it a name that anyone may have a reason to think that it would get any traffic?

InternetSalesMergersAndVariousOtherScams.com :D

Yes if you reply I would almost be sure it would say yes we want to buy but before we do we need apprasial from this or that. Like others have said. Just the way it plays out.

Thanks to all for the helpful advice. We think it is a scam as well, just one we've never seen before.

Would have ignored it completely, but we received this message for one only one website in particular, which is in fact a thriving software business with a turnover in the of thousands of dollars per year.

any significant comes of it, we'll keep you posted.
