hi
quick one, can someone tell me how accurate googles adword tools,
as in a word i searched gets 1,000,000 local searches a month and 13,500,000 global.
would this phrase/word, would this be a good .com domain to buy?
cheers
baz

Are you using the "Exact" search (see the checkbox in the left column of your search results)? The "Broad" search is not accurate, and it often produces very large numbers.

"exact match" is not accurate either

True, but Google recently updated it, it's a bit more accurate now, but yeah, they round up/down quite drastically.

If you see a 'great' domain that is still available to register, always ask yourself: how come.

Good search volume doesn't mean the domain will get traffic with no efforts, or that it even warrants development efforts.
Also, there are plenty of 'decent' domains to develop, but that have little resale potential unless developed.

The domain must be commercially viable or at least have some features like being brandable, otherwise it's yet another regfee domain.

No, but it gives a much more accurate idea than "Broad".

if you have any domains that get consistent traffic, enter them in gkwt and you will see how accurate it is.

here's one i have

vioz 9,900 9,900
[vioz] 880 880
"vioz" 8,100 8,100
vioz.com < 10 < 10
[vioz.com] - - -
"vioz.com" < 10 < 10

then when you scroll down:

www.vioz.com 28 28
"www.vioz.com" 28 28
[www.vioz.com] 28 28

and below is last 31 days @ sedo:

vioz.com 202 18 6.59 USD 8.9

so based on above numbers is it accurate or not, and would you have bought the domain based on the exact match numbers?

i know this is not a debate between the two of us, but i wanted to point that out to those who may not know

then again, maybe i gave too much info :)
