I think you will have major trademark issues on your hands. I know someone who just had AFL in their domain and they were issued with a cease and desist. Your domain will get much more than that if you use it for an AFL forum.

The owner of AFL.com is NOT capitalizing on the goodwill of the Australian Football League

No he isn't .... but he is capitalising on the hundreds of thousands of hits he would be receiving by young kids, who would accidently go to his website and click on that "Play Poker" link ... thus encouraging young kids and other vulnerable people to get sucked in to the demons of gambling! Trust me I know, I learnt my lesson from Gambling ... but thats another story!

Also who says I would captilize on the goodwill of the Australian Football League???? I merely suggested I would have liked to create a forum for AFL lovers! How would I capitlise on that ..... the only capitalising I would be doing would be creating a forum for young and old to enjoy, now is there any harm in that? Maybe the AFL would think so .... a Multi Billion dollar industry in Australia that would be pissed that some young bloke created a football forum for kids, mums and dads and lovers of aussie rules!

Then again ... are we not all here at dnforum and other domain name forums capitlising off the sales of our domain names, wanting to get that big sale?

Who says you are not capitlising off the sale of your domain name ManchesterFans.com .... this domain name is no different to my domain name , it is sports related etc

Com,
Not saying that I agree with the AFL's lawyers, it is just that I have learnt my lesson the hard way.
If you use their name for a site that relates to what they do, then they will go for the throat. The NRL are even more vigilant. Did you know they pay a bloke to go around country markets to give summonses to ppl selling unauthorized NRL gear from China?
The stall holders don't even realize they are selling fakes.
Don't worry about manchesterfans... That is easy to defend
I might want to sell fans .Geez I need one now. It is so bloody hot here in melb and it is midnight.
The point is manchesterfans is not being used as a manu u site
Think I might be in more barney rubble when I get a C & D for StkildaSaints.com
Although no doubt they will wait until the saints win the flag in 05

Ok, thanks, I was just about to make a comment on "your" AFL Names ...
collingwoodmagpies.com
essendonbombers.com
melbournedemons.com
portadelaidepower.com
richmondtigers.com

Go the Freo Dockers!

Mind you, I also own AFLForum.com too, so I do understand your point of view,
Thanks

If you want me to edit and remove these names let me know
