I've got a new url and want to know what trafficrank on alexa tells me.
Traffic Rank = 3,779,265
I also want to know what ov tells me.
Can you give me some sites where I can check if the domains I want to buy are going to be ranked well?

I hope you can help me.

It means that site most gets very little visits from people with the tool bar installed.

You can goto Alexia and see for yourself the rankings:

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?q=&url=http://onlinesearch.ws

for example to see http://onlinesearch.ws rating (also very bad)

No offense, dvdfreak, but honestly: no one here is going to answer questions that are so easily answered with a quick google search or simply by reading what it says on alexa.com about their service and numbers.

If you want to know more about this stuff a good way to start would be to read back through the forums. You will find (among other things - so get reading) that alexa or overture numbers by themselves don't really tell you much.

the lower the number the better it is.
it's like Rank no. 1 is better than Rank no. 100

Avg. Review for orf.at: Traffic Rank for orf.at: 2,021

orf ist the most visited Site in Austria.

and a bad example:

Traffic Rank for dobermanns.info: 3,421,09

Dont even worry about Alexa , it's one of the worst "tools" for helping to decide traffic.. not even close and can very very easily be manilulated..

You can check OVT results at http://www.inventory.overture.com. Basically it tells you the number of times a particular keyword was searched for in a month at Overture.

I agree with Bidawinner. Alexa data can be easily manipulated, and thus Alexa statistics cannot be relied upon.

i use good keywords its for windows and is free and for quick checking of stats it is great..

not only will it check OVT both US and UK it will do the alexa stuff and link pop and more.

a great little tool in have in your arsenal...

the programmers http://www.softnik.com/ also do some great software you can buy as well!.. for all sorts of domain related wossnames
