I am currently using adsense and get a 7% click thru. However I am not happy with the returns that Adsense gives me.
I have applied for YPN but never get a reply
Does anybody else use anything diferent and get decent results? only getting about 12c per click on Adsense
Cheers, DW

No other contextual ad network comes close to adsense or ypn in perfomance, but you can try to find some affiliate products for your site - this might help increase the revenue

Adsense will become more like an affiliate program because they are getting into pay per action (in beta now) where you get paid if someone takes an action, like signing up for a newsletter or making a purchase. It's even going to pay per call eventually, where there is a link to directly call the advertiser. I think this will be really good and is a next logical step, and will pay more.

Until then, I would add some affiliate programs and hopefully ones with a wide variety of products or wide appeal. If you join a ton of programs it seems like a good idea, but each program has a minimum amount you have to reach before being paid ($20, $50, $100, etc). Unless you have lots of traffic and can make lots of sales, you could be waiting on a lot of affiliate programs to reach minimums before you get paid.

you should also look at keyword optimizing your pages so you get adsense ads that pay more. for example headache might only pay 10 cents, but migraine medicine or migraine relief might pay 80 cents. Google will present ads with relevant content, so make your content relevant to higher paying keywords.

I get between 7% and 10% click thru at the mo so dont really want to tinker too much..It's aimed at holidays in the Algarve and ranks #3 on Google. DOnt want to damage that.
Cheers for the input tho.

WHich section of the page is where google takes the info from to decide what adds it uses? Would it be in the Title tags or H1 tags or just teh body area of the page?
If its the title then i can tweak it a bit.
