Anyone know the best way to save an animated gif file?. No matter what program I use, there always seems to be several different ways. What method can keep the quality and come in a small size?. Also, are there any free programs out there that work good with creating animated gif's?

For this purpose i simply use Flash. You can export your creation as an animated gif.

it depends on what you need to animate

you usually do the image in a program that creates a vid file

then you import the vid and created a gif from the import

then you can play with the compressions

you might want to play around with ulead 3D

Gif Animator

Gif Construction

if you can find an old copy of asymetrix for 3D, it has some of the best text rendering around imo

ulead 3d is usually fuzzy

so it really depends on what the animation source will be to make the vid file to import

it really comes down in the end to personal choice though

play with a few programs and see which one is best suited to how you think

some are very intuitive, some make you scratch you head

good luck

Jasc used to have a trial version of their Animation Workshop that came with the trial version of Jasc Paint Shop Professional. Easy to use, and stocked with features.
