Websites Another .eu fiasco???

I was under the impression that when the .eu sunrise period began and when the landrush commenced, that there would be no 2 letter or 2 character registrations permitted and that they would all be held by euRID along with all the one character .eu domains.

I just received an email for POOL.COM listing three for auction:

hc.eu
xu.eu
36.eu

These are the featured entrants.

Did I just imagine that being the rules when the .eu came out? Can anyone else shed some light on this?

LL domains are allowed under .eu as long as they are not reserved ISO country names. Check the ISO 3166-1 list for reference.
