Anti-WLS petition

RacerX, do you have any tips on how to charge the WLS system with 100 requests in 5 mins on green light?
:)

don't believe there is going to be any WLS 'landrush'.

V'suck has always been consistent in its dislike of having its system script-bombed; and they are very likely going to engineer the WLS system such that scripting will not be advantageous or worthwhile.

Gonna have to wait and see...

Yah, good point there, X. V'sly won't want their servers to crash anyway.

The petition now has more than 1000 signatures. :)

But of course, I went there and the sigs were all concealed for reasons of email harvesting. I have infinity emails collectively. Want me to vote? But you need to pay me.
:D

like the voting is taking place in Chicago--many are obviously voting early and often.

Just another Internet sham. The vote count was 10% of the present total just hours prior. What a joke. Al Gore could have used this 'supervisor of elections!'

I noticed.

I was tracking this URL on a 30 min interval. It spiked suddenly.

mole, get a life :D

Dotster sent out an email to their customers. You can read the email by following the link on Dotster's home page. The petition signatures are legitimate. See the ICANN WLS Forum too, where folks must register (and ICANN emails them to validate).

(choose "Everything" on the drop-down list box at the very bottom to see all posts)

You can even see the Browser Version each person used to post on the ICANN WLS Forum.

Compare this with the "support" Snapnames recruited, by selectively calling friends and family. I posted an analysis of some of their "supporters" at:

I'd like to see them come up with a way to prevent a distributed scripting system.

It's gonna be scripted. Verisign don't give a shit.

All they care about is the bottom line. And if they get a 50,000 WLS subs on the first day (mainly from speculators running scripts), they'll be shouting it from the rooftops.

sometimes change is bad .... got to take it like a man Georgek

lol should a man just sit back and watch someone else take away his money??

you should be glad someone is actively fighting this bad solution
