Any success with Domain Name Renting?

If anyone has had success with renting their domain names pls let me know. I have a lot of undeveloped names collecting dust - don't know if I should go the traffic building, affiliate program route or simply just rent them out - I guess it depends on the value of the name - but for average names - what would be the best route?
