I asked a programmer for a quote to have a site like www.hotscripts.com

He told me it would be much cheaper to make this type of site from phpnuke

Is this possible, all comments and suggestions appreciated
Thanks

yes but that would suck. Everyone would see its phpnuke and that isn't very popular with people who know alittle about stuff like this. A custom made site would be much better.

As it just to happens, I can make one =) Let me know

If I need a custom one, I can have someone else make it. People wouldnt know its a phpnuke scrip though. I would have a custom design made for it so it looks different

If it looks and delivers content, no one will really care.

we've used php-nuke several times - it's good and all and has an Excellent community, but the standard releases do have a lot of errors and it will need quite a lot of customization and if you think you will have a fairly high-trafficked site, you're best to develop a custom solution from scratch, or from a targetted script.

Our latest PHP-Nuke site was www.ratemysite.net and v2.ratemysite.net which was sold to a member here several months ago (and seems to have let it die)
So as you can see, PHP-Nuke is very customizable!

I've tried the 'nukes and won't use them again. It's very difficult to get any of your content indexed in the search engines if you use 'nuke. Of course it's possible to build a popular site using 'nuke, but you're going to be doing it without the help of search engine traffic.
