Anyone familiar with Red Register, Inc.?

Hey,

I'm trying to contact Red Register, Inc. as I'm interested in one of the domains they own. They seem to get a lot of expired names and park.

Anyone know how can I contact them? WHOIS results and google results haven't been helping much.

Good luck with that. They are domain tasters and as such they won't sell domains that generate revenue.

I'm sure the domain I want does not generate much revenue. I had it and expired. Besides I can't know if I I don't send an offer.

But see, they drop the domain before the 96 hours from registration pass, then they get a refund and register it soon after. So even if it makes $0.01 it's revenue.

Check the creation date if the name has dropped and wait at least 5 days. If they are tasters and the domain does not perform, they will release it. If you show interest too early they will keep it and it might take a serious offer $$$ so that they give it back to you.

So If it was registered on Tuesday the 21st I should wait until Sunday the 26th?

There are 5 days for them to drop the domain?

That's it... wait at least 5 days after registration date to see what they do. If they dump it you could grab it back for reg fee.

One day I was looking for some obscure domain and their availability. Those domains were available and I had no interest in registering them. A day or two later I just checked those domains again and to my surprise they were registered and registrar was "Red Register". However, when I checked 6~7 days later they were again available for registration.

Now I am not sure from where they got this information. I checked for those domains from two places namecheap and whois.sc. So am not sure who is the culprit.

It's domain tolls / whois.sc for sure I checked for the domain there as well.

I never visited NameCheap

Just FYI, the DNS servers used by redregister for domains they test -
NS*.IDITE-NA-HUI.COM - it has meaning in foreign language, namely in russian.
Exact translation would be: NS*.GO-AND-F...-YOURSELF.COM

You don't need to use any drop service. Once they release it, it'll be available to anyone. It isn't the same as an expiring name going through all the stages, ie: redemption, pending delete, etc. You just gotta make sure you check it's availablity constantly, but whatever you do, don't visit the site.

Exactly because it doesn't go through the usual cycle of expiration, redemption etc. it's unpredictable as of when exactly the deletion occurs. Domains that generate sustainable traffic get renewed soon after, by the same process that deleted them at the registry.

Red Register are creeps....plain and simple....sometime ago I was building a website and never searched for the domain name I wanted to use but I told some students I teach about the domain and they probably went searching for it and lo and behold, when I went to register the name it was registered by them....the same week I told the students about it.

They were sent an email and never replied, so based on advice I received here on this forum I waited and lo and behold, a couple days later it was available and although I had renamed the site etc...I still registered it and re-directed to the other site....

Wouldn't do business with them if they were the last domainers on earth....too unethical.
Glad to see ICANN is looking into this domain tasting business.....

How do they get access to your queries would be my question....
