Hi,

Any one has experienced with Domainname.com? I didn't own the domain name that registered with them myself, but I happen to be a technical contact for it. They let the domain name expired without any warning to me at all. The expired date was Apr.24th. The domain name was deactivated abruptly on Apr.25th. The owner totally forgot and don't know what to do. I've tried to help the owner by renewing it myself dozens of times, but their system keeps reporting this error at the end of process:

Sorry, an error was encountered during processing.

[ 421 ] Unable to connect with central registry

I've email asking them, but until now no reply from them at all. Moreover their system still report the same problem every time I tried renewing the domain.

My questions are:
1. Is it a normal procedure for registrar to send a expiring notice to domain name owner prior to the expired date? Or it's up to each registrar's policy? ICANN never set policy on that?
(I've been a royal customer to GKG.NET, they are very professional with this matter. They always send reminders to help the domain name owner not to forget the renewal. Oh, and quick email response too.)
2. Anyone know the better email address to contact them other than [email protected]?

Thanks so much for keep reading until this line. :) Any suggestion will be very helpful.

The issue has been resolved. I just gave them a long-distance call, their line was quite busy in the morning (of their local time). But in the afternoon, the call finally got through. My problem was fixed within two hours. Thanks so much, Betsy. Gotta give her credit for that.
