Does anyone have experience with Flippa?

Do you know what would happen if winner don't pay?
Seller still have to pay listing fee and % of sold price to Flippa?

Thanks in advance ;)

It's a real nice site with excellent features.

Tried them one time just last month. Was charged the $19 listing fee with no inquries in 30-days and lost the $19.

Don't like the name Flippa since it implies the sites are flipped domains or flipped websites even though a lot of them are longer term holdings by the sellers.

Flippa has a negative connotation, imo, and is a poor choice for the site name.

Did you try to sell the domain or website?
Seems like it's more into websites.

I don't care about their domain name as long as it produce result :D

Copper I do have to say that to me it has went downhill since it was changed to flippa. When it was all ********* I sold quite a bit of websites and scripts on there. However, there has been a decline at least from what I can see. But never hurts to give it a try. Good luck.

A website but the value was in the domain not the site.

The reason I feel the Flippa name is negative is mostly because end-users (maybe even some domainers too) may not be inclined to visit the site due to the name.

I have just tried it, and $19 gone to dust. I am completely unhappy with their site, when you can easily use 10% of $19, and list it at ebay for the same effect. This is a complete rip-off. I am ranking it as 1/10.

I've just recently discovered flippa and was also wondering what people's experiences were. Is there anyone out there that has had any recent sells on Flippa or do most listings go unnoticed. I feel the $19 listing fee is a bit high, especially if just listing a domain name. I might can see that for a really good website but not just for a domain. They should lower their fees for domains and they would probably get more listings from that end. Any more feedback pros or cons is appreciated. I am thinking of selling ExpensiveCars.net and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the best place to put this great name up for sell. Maybe I should just put it over at SEDO for a while.

I don't really like Flippa; ever since ********* went from handling website sales from their marketplace to Flippa the quality of the sites has been horrible. I do find it easier to sell a site of quality though, mainly because ther eare so few.

It's a solid platform, but good luck finding anything worthy... :)

I don't think you have to pay the % unless you make the sale and get paid, but you def have to pay the
listing fee of $19 even if you list something for $10 lol which is crazy I know but that is there rule. You can
not sell anything unless you pay for that listing. So if you are looking to sell more than 1 domain or website
it is better to list them in one listing or else you will have to pay $19 for each listing.

Good Luck on your sales.

After using Flippa (btw, terrible name) with no success I can say the main emphasis with both Flippa and the buyers appears to be website sales, and based heavily on revenue stats.

If you just have domains or sites for sale without good revenue the chance of a sale is real poor. Then, imo, you will in all likelihood lose the high $19 listing fee (possibly even more than $19 since many members buy a package for usually $50 or more, which can be wasted if you don't use it - which happrned to me I might add).

Seriously, who cares about the stupid name. If it provides a useful service and or produces some sort of ROI then name is irrelevant. I think you're over thinking this because you're a domainer.

I have been using Flippa to sell my sites and it is listing my third site now. I don't feel it is a good platform for domain names but I have good results selling my sites =)

Was actually thinking more from an end-user view who may feel a flipper name has a negative business connotation meaning someone has a website or domain they have owned for a short time with a goal of flipping it for a quick profit, which end-users may not like and may also impact the branding.
