I'm looking to hear from anyone who is using pool's api -- NOT the website, NOT the co-brand, the thing they mention at the "domain professionals" link.

I emailed them a few times and finally got a response:

I apologize for the delay in this response however we do have an API which will allow you to fully participate in auctions, add back orders, and remove back orders. In order for us to provide the API you must have an account balance of $5,000 with Pool.com.

It would almost be worth it just to be able to pare down my backorder list. :)

SO... if you're using the pool api, would you let me know what you think of it, how hard it was to integrate into your system, what you think of working with pool at that level, and anything else material or interesting you can add.

If you're under NDA and can't answer those questions, could you at least let me know you're using it or know of someone using it?

Thanks!

I would never send Pool 5k in advance, that's why I never used their API, besides the fact that I don't trust them.

However, you can email them and they will clean out your backorder list totally for you.

It's not the money that we're concerned about - it could be worthwhile if the API is any good.

I don't want their marketing bs, though, I want to hear from someone who's already done the integration work and is using it now to find out what it took. Any idea where else to look? This board seems to have the most professional domainers that I've found.

I'm also concerned about Pool's support; it isn't terrible, but I also wouldn't call them good -- I've waited 3-4 days for a human response before, and my first few emails (over the course of several months) to the **** address went unanswered. I'd need to be sure that my money sitting in their bank entitles us to greater access.
