A script is no use without a registrar willing to let you run it, even then the best drop services and clubs (e.g. Namewinner, Snapnames) operate through more than one registrar's connections so you will still struggle to get the really good names.

I think you are onto something there. We should start up a domain dropping service and call it Doctor Drop. We could use some of the best scripts in the world and hook up with a few ICANN accredited registrars. We could offer to grab names for people and only charge them for what we actually obtain.

Then again, no. I don't think anyone would actually be stupid enough to locate an expiring domain name service at www.doctordrop.com.
