Does the .biz extention hurt this domain or is it still pretty good?

It is probably best to never buy a .biz domain name unless you have a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy a strong generic name for a song.

This is one extention that is just not taken seriously by many. CellService isn't even that good...kinda boring. A .biz is like an Associates Degree. Once you compare it to the real thing you realize how weak it is.

"Cellular Service" would be the better choice though cell service would make a good usable domain for many local vendors often seen in the malls selling Verizon, Sprint, Cingular, Cricket, etc. And the "never buy a biz domain" perspective borders on absurd. .biz is a viable extension in the marketplace and the only official "business" representation aside from .com=commercial.

I have to agree with everyones comments I'm afraid. Not bad domain & says exactly what it is. But .biz is meant to be the business domain, but do you ever type it in, or see it come up in searches? No
I have quite a few solid .biz domains. People can't normally be bothered to appraise them , let alone buy them . i won't be renewing mine. Sorry pal.

Let's evaluate what you have guy0102. Go ahead and list your .biz domains since you plan to let them expire.

I agree. Let's see what you got and are going to give up.

Only 10 years ago, the Web was still a fad. 15 years ago, the Web hadn't been invented yet. So .biz hasn't taken the world by storm ! Trust your instincts - how many x,xxx sales will pay for a lot of x dollar regfees for a lot of years ?

Well, I'm still really wet behind the ears when it comes to this business, but to me what'll do well with .biz are true generics (like cellservice.biz -- seems good to me). Industry names, keywords etc. that would appeal to a broad audience. There have been some .biz names selling fairly well recently (one generic .biz went for $500 or $600 recently on Afternic I think).

My opinion is that it's shortsighted to declare .biz dead already. Is it going to sell for a lot of money in the short term? Probably not. I tend to think of good generic .biz domains as a longer-term investment. Some risk, of course, since the market for .biz hasn't been made clear yet, but this entire business is pretty high risk.

Just my opinion,
ripley.
