Domain Name: LocalTemple.com

Message:
This domain is pretty self-explanatory. I am not religious myself, but billions are.
With all the travelling we do these days, it could be useful for someone of a religious nature to know their local holy place?
Not sure what type of paid links you could get, must be some!?
Any ideas on how you could develop this one. Any ideas of value?
Thanks

Low to mid x,xxx maybe even high x,xxx for a national religious group doing outreach. Jews call places of worship temples as do Muslims, Masons, etc.

Good name.

It's not a bad name, but I think that $x,xxx is pushing it a bit too far...maybe low to mid xxx

In my experience, someone will pay x,xxx for novelty names. Especially like this one.

Not a reseller, of course, but a real end user. To the rest of the world, x,xxx is not scary - particularly for a good name like this. A leader of a congregation could go to a member (of that congregation) and walk away with that amount (even xx,xxx) in a few minutes.

there are so many very similar domains that are still available...why would anyone pay $x,xxx when they could get something just as good for $6?

Great Question.

Two answers:
1) It is a great name. Easy to remember. Specific.
2) End Users buy names at the market to save the trouble of searching.

It is all in the marketing.

From Slashdot, I quote :

"I recently received a solicitation for a church domain name. I am the webmaster for my church and another church in North or South Carolina (I forget where), no longer needs one of their domain names. The church I attend has the same name, but is located in another state. Basically, the guy said he wanted to offer us first dibs. When we inquired as to how much he wanted, he said that it had been "appraised" at up to $20,000. Though, he was very nice about it and said that he would give it to us for $8000. Sheesh. I recommended to our pastor that he ignore the request since we already have a well known and establishd domain."

OK. This didn't work out! However, the concept is the same.

If you market it right, you could probably sell just about any halfway decent domain for $x,xxx. If guy0102 can get someone to buy this for $x,xxx then my hat is off to him, but I'm certainly not holding my breath on this one.
