Hi

it sounds like a name that could get type-in traffic

should have no problem with getting appropriate ads to display with ppc, until you get your site ready.

$100 min. reseller

thanks much for the comments.

I am researching the whole dog cookie thing as we speak.

can anyone help me out re: any info on best hosting options and best ad or ppc options? I have a number of small sites I would like to get up. Design-wise I am fine as I have been buiding websites since the mid-90's, but am new to any development of multi, small sites, which seems to be the way to go ...

have heard a bit about hostgator and adsense, is that the way to go?

would also be willing to build and put up a hosting reseller site, if that is a good option?

thanks in advance for any advice.

I agree as well. I think you've found a good name that could prove worthwhile in the long run! Good luck!

Am I missing something here?!!! I guess you know what you are talking about if you have been programming that long, & if you can develop a great site I wish you the best. What is the actual domain name all about? It's terrible! Sorry

lol. you are obviously not a dog owner.

but still, you need someone to tell you what the name is about? come on.

here's a few little facts for you;

For 2006, it estimated that $38.4 billion will be spent on pets in the U.S.

Food $15.2billion
Vet Care $9.4billion
Supplies/OTC Medicine $9.3 billion
Live animal purchases $1.8 billion
Pet Services: grooming & boarding $2.7 billion

63% of U.S. households own a pet, which equates to 69.1 millions homes
45% of U.S. households own more than one pet

I am a dog owner actually & am aware that huge amounts are spent on this industry. I'm from the UK & is well known we are a pet loving nation that probably exceeds even you guys, per head. However the domain name is crap. Face facts. My point being you could go out & register anything with dog or pet in the title. As long as you develop it you may make money. Maybe it's a culture thing. It's always been DogBiscuits!

Great statistics by the way. I was thinking, if we spend that much on pets we must spend 100 times more on cars? makes sense? I just checked carsfordrivers.com is available for you. Why not go & snap it up?!
Hilarious.

I'd register cookiesfordogs.co.uk as well, you don't want to miss out on the branding thing!
A little point. It wasn't an angry thing, but when I left a very polite but disagreeing appraisal, you tried to throw statistics around in a patronising manner. I still maintain hilarious. I hate to say you've just wasted another fiver. Take care.
ps: I'd register cookiesforbitches.com also. If you want to be politically correct you musn't leave the female canines out! Hilarious

really, mate, was not trying to anger you in any way. was just giving you some good info to help you rethink your opinions, as nasty as they may be.

and just to let you know;

2006 US dog owning households: 43.5 million

2006 UK dog owning households: 5.2 million

US pet owning households 63%

UK pet owning households 52%

If you spent as much time searching for a decent domain name as you do stats, you might have a chance. I think the point I made was how much is spent per capita head. I am aware the US has a higher population than the UK. As does China & India. It's what's spent ,& on what that counts. I wouldn't get too obsessed with how much the industry is making anyway.I think you're dreaming. Only time will tell. I genuinely wish you the best & hope you prove me wrong. Take Care

If I need a treat for my dog, I am just going to pick it up at the supermarket with my other groceries.

Sorry but I don't see much value.

Kindest Regards,

Craig

l also think this is a bad domain worth regfee. Pets are definitely popular but that wouldnt make this name or just any name with the word dog in it worth alot. A name such as dogbiscuits.com would be a million times better. Ive had dogs my whole life and ive never even heard of a dog cookie.

And when you are done feeding your dog all of those biscuits or cookies, don't forget to take care of their oral care with my PetToothpaste.com! Also, if you feel like freshening them up a bit, remember my PetDeodorant.com!

It's only a matter of time...

I take back my initial appraisal. This domain does have some potential. What you need to do is brand your own dog cookies/treats and sell them using your newly aquired domain. :)
