Help me out with this one people. I picked it up just a few minutes after getting the email from LJA's Expired Yahoo/DMOZ domain list. I don't like to have to make a decision that quickly but I have noticed many of the names on those lists disappear instantly so I had to make a snap decision.

I had been thinking about an appraisal name anyhow, and liked the play on the word appraisal (though that may also be a bad thing in terms of mis-spelling the domain if they have to type it in). There's also the matter of the Yahoo directory listing costing $299 which should give it some intrinsic value at least temporarily (if they discover the domain no longer contains content related to the listing - bye bye!). What do you think of it?

Yahoo listed domains just aren't bringing the bucks like they used to. I estimate $20 wholesale to $75 retail.

No Alexa stats, Google PR of 4. Not very many links.

If you decide to sell, I'd be interested at the wholesale level.

Thanks 2g. I have to decide if I want to use it myself or look for another name for this purpose (not looking at it for domain appraisals by the way - but my wife has an antiques business). Also thanks for the tip on the current market value for Yahoo expired names. This is only the second one I picked up. I would only take them if the name has some intrinsic appeal on its own.

It was definitely worth the reg. Let me know if you decide to let it go. I would use this one for myself as well - I have a small group of real estate domains that I redirect. Even a little bit of targeted traffic would make it worth it. It isn't a bad looking name from a purist point of view either.

That was the key 2g. I thought it had some name appeal, otherwise I wouldn't have taken it for just the Yahoo listing. I was aware the listing was in Southern California real estate, so if I use it for antques that it will likely get delisted soon, leaving me the name value alone. I'll let you know if I put it up for sale.
