are proxys websites illegal?

i was just wondering if proxy website are illegal as i plan on making one. For e.g. i go to school and use it to get past the blocked sites.

Illegal as in local laws - as far as I know, no.

BUT - using them to access sites you aren't allowed to can get you in trouble (expelled) with the entity. I've seen employees fired over proxy sites.
