Fired.com $20,600

Mattdamon.com $5,400

nohotel.com $30,000

nohotels.com $30,000

Not saying these aren't legit....but how do we truly know they are?

Is someone out there really paying that much for nohotel.com ?

Are those actual reported sales, asking prices, or current bids?

Don't forget also, it is possible to bid on your own name (I dind't say it wasn't against policy, just possible).

These are under recent sales.

So i assume, the transaction must have completed in order for them to post it there.

That would be my assumption. I would hope sedo doesn't list anything under their recent sales unless they were truly legit transactions.

"Recent Sale" doesn't always mean completed sale. ;)

Well that's my question then...

Is it not a feed which shows completed transactions?

What purpose would there be to post recent sales if the transactions were not completed just bidding closed?

Not sure about that. My sales have never shown up in "recent sales" until it was a done deal.

Not doubting the transactions above did not go through.

Just curious if sedo verifies those are actually completed transactions.

They handle the escrow, so they should know :-)

These are actually completed transactions: domain in the hands of Sedo and check made out or wire sent out to the seller. It takes a bit longer for the buyer to get the domain, especially if they requested a transfer out to another registrar. Not sure how Sedo selsects sales for its front page. This is not NameJet folks.

Acro, good to hear.

It does make sense if you think about it for a while. Sedo doesn't ban those domains from parking, but their ads-provider Google does. Google has no influence on the marketplace section.
