Are you a fulltime domainer?

Just curious how many people on here are full time domainers or have other things going on as well.

Do you have an offline job? Or other things that you do online?


I am not a full time domainer. Aside from it I do content creation, I do graphics, some web development, affiliate marketing (cpa, adult, and gambling), as well as a few other things. I like being diverse.

Anyways it was just something on my mind so thought I would ask

Hopefully some day I will be a full time domainer, but for now I work for a small company (~ 20 employees) as a software engineer.

I spend the majority of my time on domains but I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who only buys and sells domains and doesn't do some development/seo/whatever.

full time since i quit my job a few months ago

the first thing i did was build a roadmap for the next year. i will re-evaluate my progress against the roadmap and my target revenue goals each 3 months. at 6 months i will decide how its going and whether to go back to work for the man or if things are positive to continue steamrolling. right now i am just executing off the list

i can always supplement income with construction/handyman work and online poker

After taking quite a while out and focusing on developing personal projects, I'm not quite a full time domainer as such, but I'll be buying more domains and turning them into profitable sites than I ever have before.

So in some respects, I am and I'm not a full time domainer.

I run a technical support company here in Oslo ( www.pcproffen.no ) which I started in 2005. In 2008 I was actually domaining pretty much full time and that entire year was truly awesome! I also spend some time trading stocks to supplement to my income.

I think 2010 will be a great year for us and we can hopefully all go back to being full-time 'mainers.

I think it depends on how much you need to live on,i mean i go through sprees i made $50k in three weeks and made not a lot since and that was three months ago,for me to be fill time i would have to make at least $100k-$200k a year to replace my bricks and mortar business and that's not going to happen for the foreseeable future.

If i needed just $25k to $50k to live on then yes no worries it could be full time,as you can see my itrader is low as i don't sell many on here and none of my sales have ever been reported on dnjournal as they are very private sales ;-)

So the question should be "how much do you need to make domaining a full time living ?"

I discovered domaining in Febuary of 09. I have been somewhat lucky considering other peoples domain sales. I work full time and spend about 20 hours a week domaining. I have a younger brother that has had an unbelievable year in regards to webdesign development and domain sales making family and close friends willing to invest lots of time and money in this industry.
