Just thought that I'd pass Go Daddy's appraisal for my domain 'Art.US':

If anyone wants to buy it in that range, I'm selling!! Get your appraisals here, from SEDO (they tend to be low though), or for free at URLbuyers.COM (http://www.urlbuyers.com/valuation.cfm). URL Buyers is pretty useful for .COM, .NET, and .ORG and very high for .BIZ and .INFO. Art.US is a very nice name but the Go Daddy appraisal is downright loopy!! On the other hand, if you want someone to tell you that you're a millionaire, this is probably the ticket for just a few bucks!!

$10-15K would be a reasonable expectation from an end-user; even a domainer should be willing to pony out low 4 figures, IMO.

IMO the name is in the $$$$ range today and value for .us is bound to increase. Hold on to the name.

For a major end user with a plan, I don't think GoDaddy is so off the mark on this one. Take it there yourself with development (see Music.us with huge traffic or the sale of Del.icio.us) and shoot for higher than GD. Nice name Jon!

The final sale prices for high end domains depend very much on marketing, i.e. how you market them to the right target client base, and could thus vary A LOT.

The .COMs are, I think, a little low and I particularly 'love' that 'Wine.US' appraisal! Go Daddy has a long way to go before they should charge for this service.

Thanks for the imput. My main reason for the posting is to save your money on these appraisals. Maybe there should be a paid appraisal rating here at DNF for all services so that wildly inaccurate and, worse, downright fraudulent services could be routed out so that we all could avoid them or force them to improve.

my friend works for Allposters.com which recently purchased the domain and company Art.com for i believe $30 million. I dont think Art.us is worth nearly that much but i would say mid XX,XXX
