We just had a tornado go over my house. It did a lot of minor damage (some roof damage, lots of debris) in the community just to the west of us.

Accord to where it touched down and the BSO officer I spoke to it passed (in the air but still low) within a couple dozen feet of my house.

No damage here, not even any debris but when I went outside earlier (during the storm to be a stupid person who wanted to take video) the wind was *very* strong and erratic.

I just saw a video on CNN or the suspected Tornado.

Someone was literally standing almost directly under it while the funnel cloud was forming. It was shot looking directly up overhead with the clouds swirling. It was very surreal looking.

I can not find it on CNN but perhaps it will be posted later.

Florida is the tornado capital of the USA but 99.99% of them are F1's and waterspouts.

When a tropical cyclone goes though they can easily spawn dozens of small twisters and an uncountable number of microbursts.

Are you in Wales?

My wife is of Welsh descent.

That' s right Gerry, we had this conversation in a previous life. We chatted about Rugby and were comparing the game with American Football, we also compared the age of our houses, mine was built circa 1750 and i think your was about 1800 i believe but that was a few years ago. :)

BTW England v Wales this weekend in England and Wales v England in Cardiff the following weekend.

What part of Wales is your wife descended from ?

Yes, that conversation does come back to mind.

What part of Wales? I have no idea. Where ever they do a great deal of mining as the clan were miners way back when.

And house is circa1840.

Perhaps someday (when?) we can take a jaunt over to Wales when I make my pilgrimage to Northern France.
