Hi

I am currently based in the UK where I have limited companies set up and pay myself and partner in dividends. We can take out a joint £80k with little tax and no national insurance but obviously the companies have to pay corporation tax on profits.

Does Australia operate a similar system? Are there any Australian domainers who can recommend a tax accountant (sydney/qld) who understands our industry or let me know of any pitfalls in doing this.

I am thinking of applying to move to australia under a business owner transfer visa and would need to transfer my business and assets.

Thanks!

I'm not Australian and I can't give you any advice on Australian tax, but I had to teach my accountant everything about domains from the start. Now he knows "everything" (and he's even sharp when it comes to valuating domain names ;)). Anyways, my point is that even if you shouldn't find an accountant who's familiar with domaining, it might be worth it to just find a "good" accountant and tutor him. If he's dedicated then he'll learn very fast about domaining. :)
