nice! Strange to see it was available.
Problem is people going to namecheap are usually domain-savvy, so the ctr will be very low if you park it.

Its value can only be based on the Traffic/Revenue it brings you through parking it etc.

So only you yourself can appraise it and know its true potential IMHO.

But do be careful with using Namecheap as your keyword etc., may get you in trouble :worried:

Exactly  - And thats probably why it was still available.

i also managed to get my hands on tackspace.com (rackspace.com)

I've never even heard of Rackspace. :?:

Oh well, maybe I've not lived :worried:

wictionary.com sold for around the 5K mark..

Makes more sense as its based on a true worldwide Generic Word Dictionary. Probably every internet user in the world (at least in English) has at least once in their lifetime has searched/looked up the term.

I very much doubt the same goes for the term NameCheap, Sorry.

Very good point :) Therefore IMO this is a regfee name as the (very little) traffic it might receive would probably have close to 0% CTR.

Wictionary is not a typo.
It is a contraction of two terms and is brandable, sort of.

Wikipedia + dictionary

Thats why its $5 g's

As with any other typo domain, I think value is solely based on traffic.

I agree, Wiktionary is not a good example of typo domains value, as it is a brandable name based on Wiki + Dictionary.

dude, this typo will get next to NO traffic...I know the dude with vankofamerica-com and it gets like 10 hits a day, lol

first letter off typos usually are very crappy....and not to mention TM typos..which are a big no no

Agree 110% with what everyone else has said here.

Dutchezz - I notice you just signed up. So from one Newbie to another - try to resist the temptation to impulse buy. Write down the dozens of clever ideas popping into your head on a sheet of paper and lock it away until you are informed.

Do your research - read especially here - these are the folks who know what they are talking about. It is very difficult to outsmart the industry based on new reg typos nowadays. All of the good ones are taken and if they aren't - it's a good chance it's a TM. Everyone makes mistakes in the beginning...it's less painful if you haven't spent tons of money yet. :)

Wow finally, a "newbie" with some real words of wisdom :ok:

also, instead of locking those ideas of away..just ask somebody here that you trust for their input on it...or use a registrar like moniker.com to reg new domains if you are looking for traffic and you have the "grace" period in which to delete them if they are duds...good luck!

Concur. Save your hand regs to a text file. Go to bed, and wake up in the morning.

I've done this, and thought to myself many times, "What the hell was I thinking?"

If you search using registrars, your searched names are available to the public to see. Best to download a secure search program for your searches (I use one called Dnaz - domain name analyzer), then you can hum and haw over the avail names you find for awhile.

And getting to the appraisal, I'd say 0$ just because, though I doubt you'll get much traffic, it's a TM name so if you DID get some mentionable traffic NC will probably toss you a c & d. I came across a few Namecheap typos in my searches but left them alone.

but don't let good ones locked away for long...i've learned it the hard way.
i've got budgeteers.com inside my head for a week now then suddenly on october 2 some company reg it:veryangry:. I'm a newbie so this is a real pain for me, that should've been my 1st to resell. I've only tried moniker and dotster to see if it's available so I didn't think someone hijacked that name from my pc.

Well that domain had been reg'd well before that and dropped...there is also a company that owns the .net..you should have reg'd the .com when you could!
